In this lesson students will explore volume, unit conversions, and the relationship between energy transfer and mass by comparing pan sizes and scaling a box brownie recipe.


We updated this lesson in February 2024 to make it even easier by only using a bag and box brownie mix!


Grades: 6-9 (options for differentiation provided)


Timeline: 4-6 class periods
